Easy Cooking – Hinoki Steamed Beef (1-Tier Cooking)
1. Place the water pot on the stove and fill it with about 1/3 of water.
2. Set the Hinoki steamer (with slatted tray) on top of the pot.
3. Add a layer of base vegetables on the tray — chives and bean sprouts work best.
4. Add other ingredients as desired, such as mushrooms, sweet potatoes, or assorted vegetables.
5. Place thinly sliced beef brisket (chadolbagi) on top.
6. It’s okay if the lid doesn’t fully close (1–2 cm open) due to the height of the ingredients. As the vegetables and meat cook down, the lid will naturally close.
7. Steam for about 10–15 minutes. After around 10 minutes, lift the lid and check occasionally to ensure the meat is tender and fully cooked.
Easy Cooking – 2-Tier Hinoki Steamed Seafood
1. Place the water pot on the stove and fill it with about one-third water.
2. Set the first Hinoki steamer (with slatted tray) on top of the pot.
3. Add a layer of bean sprouts on the tray, then place assorted seafood on top.
4. In the second steamer tier, place a whole fish (such as snapper) upright.
5. Stack the second steamer tier on top of the first. Make sure the tiers fit properly to prevent steam from escaping.
6. Cover with the lid and cook on an induction stove, electric cooktop, or gas range.
7. Steam for about 10–20 minutes, depending on the amount and thickness of the ingredients. Open the lid occasionally to check if the seafood is fully cooked.
Cleaning & Storage Instructions
1. After cooking, do not leave the steamer out for too long. Rinse with lukewarm water to remove food residue, then wipe dry with a clean cloth or towel.
2. When drying, place it in a well-ventilated, shaded area out of direct sunlight.
3. Once completely dry, store by nesting the tiers together or keeping them separated, as you prefer.
How to Clean Your Stainless Steel Water Pot for the First Time
1.Apply cooking oil inside the pot and wipe thoroughly.
2.Repeat this process 2–3 times.
3.Wash the pot well with dish soap.
4For extra cleaning, scrub once more using baking soda, or fill the pot halfway with water, add vinegar or citric acid, and bring to a simmer over medium heat for 2–3 minutes.
5.Rinse with hot water to prevent stains, then dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.
